BLABLANIGHTS Cycle
Tuesday 27 May 18,30h
In LABA Valencia,
Calle Quart, 21-23, Valencia
We present the 24th session of the #BLABLANIGHTS series, with Lorenzo Meloni, an Italian photographer specialising in documenting conflicts and their human and environmental consequences. With a critical and historical gaze, his work invites us to reflect on contemporary wars and the repetitive patterns of violence in history.
For more than ten years he has worked in the Middle East and North Africa, covering conflicts in Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Most recently he has documented the war in Ukraine. His monograph We Don’t Say Goodbye, published in 2022, compiles a decade of work on the rise and fall of the Islamic State and was recognised by Time as one of the best photobooks of the year.
In 2022 he began his project ‘L’Arbre aux Papillons’, focusing on the tension between urban development and nature.
