On September 23, 2021, we had the honor of welcoming Javier Jiménez for a very special session of the BLABLANIGHTS Cycle: the inaugural lecture of LABA Valencia’s first academic year.
JAVIER JIMÉNEZ is the General Director of Lanzadera, one of the most important startup accelerators in Spain.
Javier prepared a talk that the LABA Valencia students followed eagerly, taking notes, hungry for knowledge. He immersed our students and the entire audience in the world of business, common sense, and basic calculations. He explained how germinal ideas and projects can be analyzed and supported to become a reality, grow, and reach a market niche, a space deeply influenced by design and mobile technologies. We saw success stories of young Spanish entrepreneurs and, above all, received advice grounded in common sense, extensive experience, and an immense ability to teach the students how to approach an entrepreneurial project.
Driven by Juan Roig, president of Mercadona, Lanzadera is a project that supports entrepreneurial leaders in creating efficient companies that add value to society and implement a solid business model.
For its 2021 programs, Lanzadera incorporated 130 technology-based companies, five times more than in previous years. The selected companies develop innovative solutions in sectors such as fashion, new technologies, logistics, medicine, furniture, sports, food, and education.
JAVIER JIMÉNEZ holds a degree in Economics from the University of Valencia and has developed his entire professional career within the Mercadona group. He is currently a board member of several companies and the general director at Lanzadera, the accelerator of Marina de Empresas, a fully private capital project driven by Juan Roig (President of Mercadona). Lanzadera is part of Marina de Empresas, a major entrepreneurial hub in Valencia that also includes the EDEM Business School and the Angels investment society. It was created with the mission to train, advise, and finance today’s and future entrepreneurs.
Thanks to this new professional challenge, he has had the opportunity to participate as a speaker in internationally renowned events such as 4YFN, South Summit, and Salón MiEempresa.
This has also allowed him to develop his role as a columnist and blogger, advising startups and future entrepreneurs on the ins and outs of the entrepreneurial adventure, creating sustainable companies based on productive work, effort, and leadership.
