Testimony of Alessandro Corina,
LABA Firenze alumni
I graduated in 2013 from LABA Florence. My final project got materialized in 2017. I implemented the concept of Casa Studio. I transformed the historic Bellini and Bucci mechanical workshop into my residence and professional office.
At Laba Florencia, I was lucky to find myself in a very stimulating environment from the didactic point of view, well organized and attended by students of heterogeneous origin and educational background. I highlight the guidance and help of teaching professionals, especially Professor Minisci.
My profession is divided into product design and interior design. The most stimulating thing about my job is the creative phase. To put my ideas on paper and create objects and spaces that are both functional and aesthetically satisfying. When creativity is put at the service of people, the designer’s work takes on great importance. I achieve this by empathizing with the contacts to understand their needs and create their specific request.
Of my professional projects I highlight:
CASA CORINA, an apartment on the top two floors of a small block of flats with ocean views.
EVERGREEN SOFA, produced since 2017 by the GobboSalotti company. With vintage lines, Evergreen was chosen in 2019 as a fixed piece of furniture on the reality show ‘Master Chef Italia’.
LA VIE EST BELLE (Casa Ila y Ale). In the centre of Grosseto. Furnished mixing contemporary design pieces with antique and vintage objects and accessories.
I would advise new students to settle the knowledge very well. Without forgetting to develop a critical approach towards yourself in order to improve and grow professionally.
