LUCIA TAHAN
VR Software Designer
The BLABLANIGHTS series continued on November 3, 2021, featuring artist and VR software designer Lucia Tahan. This special session was held in collaboration with MMMAD – Madrid’s Urban Festival of Digital Art.

Since 2018, Lucia Tahan has lived in New York, Berlin, and London, where she currently works as a spatial computing designer for Facebook, developing Augmented Reality creation tools.
As an architect and software designer, she expands the practice of architecture beyond a purely spatial discipline into experience design and VR research.

In 2018, Lucia Tahan participated in the design of the Slovenian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, where her work was also exhibited in the Spanish Pavilion.
In 2019, she was awarded the Housing the Human grant for research on the future of housing and the Knight Foundation grant for software development at the New Museum in New York. Her built work includes two residential projects in Extremadura, completed in 2017 and 2018.
Her work has been showcased in major museums and institutions, including the Bi-City Biennale of Architecture/Urbanism in Shenzhen (2020), Copenhagen Architecture Festival (2019), HKW Berlin (2018), Istanbul Design Biennial (2018), MAXXI Museum in Rome (2017), Lisbon Architecture Triennale (2017), and Seoul Architecture Biennale (2017).
She has been featured in media outlets such as El País and e-flux, as well as academic journals like Lobby (Bartlett School of Architecture).
Tahan studied at ETSAM (Madrid) and also attended Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design (Jerusalem) and Technische Universität Berlin.
She has taught at University of Illinois at Chicago, Bauhaus Dessau, ETSAM, and Universidad Camilo José Cela.
