Activity of LABA Valencia in the MEP - Model Program of the European Parliament - for the dissemination of the New European Bauhaus
Last Saturday 22nd of January, a group of students from LABA Valencia was responsible for the organisation and execution of the Team Building activity of the MEP – Model European Parliament Programme -, within the online Autonomous Session of Andalusia, Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla.
Valeria Montalvan, Kassandra Pharel, Victoria Álvarez, Nadia Toledo and Cosette Reyes, students of the Digital & Multimedia Design degree, prepared games around the @neweuropeanbauhaus and coordinated activities to dynamise online groups belonging to different schools. It was quite a challenge, and they even ran a sound improvisation session!
Thanks to their commitment to the degree subjects, and their involvement in the MEP project, Valeria, Kassandra, Victoria, Nadia and Cosette have won a few days’ trip to Madrid to visit ARCO MADRID 2022, the international contemporary art fair.
LABA Valencia, School of Art Design and New Media, joined last year as a member of the board of trustees of MEP Spain – European Parliament Model Programme – to provide speakers, workshops and various activities that enrich the project and the training of the participants. The MEP is currently composed of Grupo Sorolla in Valencia, El Centro Inglés in Cádiz (Andalusia), Colegio Manuel Peleteiro in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia), Colegio Virgen de Europa in Madrid and the Institución San Patricio, represented by the International School San Patricio in Toledo and Colegio San Patricio in El Soto, as well as the ISDE University in Madrid, Schiller International University also with a campus in Madrid and, from 2021, LABA Valencia.
In the Model European Parliament Model Programme – MEP at regional, national and international level, young people from all over Spain develop skills such as public speaking, parliamentary debate and teamwork with an innovative and transformative methodology.
