Copy Planet is an ongoing virtual art project that creates an authentic experience in a virtual space. Elevates the idea of virtual showrooms and virtual chats by combining the features of both.

The project was conceived by a group of individuals formed and led by artist Andy Wauman, along with technology wizard and game developer Jonathan Pugh and artist and curator James Ly, who is currently pursuing his PhD regarding curation and heritage conservation of virtual and augmented reality. And recently the artist and designer of audiovisual and tactile movements, Pablo Salafurka, has joined our team.

The project delves into the workings of the mind of artist Andy Wauman. An immersion in a poetic labyrinth represented as a multiverse of symbols considered sacred by the artist. He translates that poetic language into the virtual realm of the digital and the Internet. See how things fit together migrating from one world to another. Test the possibilities of an infinite and unknown realm; the adventure of a romance at the sea of digital culture. The process of migration of symbols and signs through the duplication of one world to another symbolizes the passage of an artist from the real to the virtual and vice versa.

In this virtual multiverse of Copy Planet, the artist allows the user / traveler to navigate as an avatar; witnessing the construction of this labyrinth within this virtual multiverse.

Rosa Hirn. I’m Rosa and I work and live in Berlin. My training is in jewelry design. I am a creative and artisan person by nature. But I also have a great passion for games and the digital world. Before the pandemic I had plans to work in a theater as a props designer, but the moment everything closed I had to rethink my professional plans. So I started making AR filters. My first vision was to translate my jewelry and headpieces into digital models to make them accessible to everyone using AR technology. I wanted to be able to share my jewelry in a fun and easy way, especially jewelry not designed to be worn in everyday life. Shortly after starting, I received the first requests for commercial filter projects. I created a portfolio and worked on my 3D modeling, texturing, and coding skills to get the set of tools I needed to create professional experiences for clients. Meanwhile, I also worked on projects of personal passion that were featured at the MMMAD Festival and the CADAF Digital Art Fair this year. I am now working as a full-time AR developer at GoSpooky, an ambitious social media agency that is really pushing AR. I am really fascinated by AR technology and super happy and proud to be able to participate in such a quick journey.
