Interview with Siddhartha Gautam, professor at LABA Valencia

Meet Siddharth Gautam, Faculty member:

“I am a visual artist and multidisciplinary designer, specialised in the moving image. With more than a decade of professional experience in branding, broadcast design, advertising, art and cinema, I have always been motivated to learn new things and expand my horizons, as much physical as artistic. Through my professional and artistic practice, I intend to create a synthesis between the past and the future. I have worked with clients like Disney, Discovery Channel, Swatch, IBM, VH1 and Bloomberg, and also have exhibited artworks at prestigious spaces like Fondation Cartier Paris, ARCO Madrid, and Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo. After seven years as creative director at the design agency ThreeTen in Barcelona, presently I work as an independent artist and as co-director of the production house La Rabiosa”.

“The courses I take in BA (Hons.) Digital Design and Multimedia are directed towards professional creative practice. I will be teaching methodologies and processes required in all creative industries. This involves understanding the needs of a client, developing concepts, building ideas, creating successful design solutions to creative problems etc. At the same time, I will be teaching the use of software and best practices required in professional settings – Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign etc. These courses are intended to build a strong understanding of fundamentals important for professional practice irrespective of the creative industry”.
