Mirjam Hillenius head of International and Mobility Programmes, and Cosette Reyes head of the Academic Communication department of LABA Valencia have participated in an exchange meeting in Eindhoven, held in the framework of the Dutch Design Week, where they had the opportunity to present and discuss the progress of the European Project CforC Care for Creativity. This project focuses on understanding and supporting the well-being of professionals and students in the creative sector, exploring the challenges and difficulties they face in their careers.

During the Dutch Design Week, results were shared from fieldwork carried out in the Netherlands and Spain, which included an in-depth analysis of interviews and questionnaires with working professionals and young trainees. The research focused on expectations within the creative sector, investigating what is expected of these professionals, what their own expectations are and how they interpret and cope with these demands in their professional lives. This analysis revealed crucial aspects of how work pressures affect not only productivity, but also motivation and career development in an increasingly competitive environment.

In addition, in collaboration with the EDUventure Foundation, the impact of stress and overload on the day-to-day lives of creatives was addressed in depth. The Foundation provided a space to discuss the next steps of the project and define concrete actions to mitigate these issues. As a result of these discussions, the project team is developing specialised tools and workshops that aim not only to reduce stress in the sector, but also to foster an environment where creatives can value their work, minimise the risk of undervaluation and prevent them from dropping out of their career and studies.

This meeting marks a significant step towards the creation of a more structured support system for those working in the creative field, with the aim of creating environments that enable greater professional satisfaction and stability and prevent further attrition in the sector.
