Since 2011, the Festival 10 Sentidos has established itself, year after year, as the festival of the living arts in Valencia: an encounter with dance, scenic, plastic, cinematographic, audiovisual and literary art.
This year, LABA Valencia is taking part in the festival’s proposals with an installation in which visitors can experiment through visual and sound creation.
Improvisa is an app created by Cristina Casanova, director of LABA Valencia, which allows users to create visual and sound compositions by playing the keyboard of their computer and/or mobile as a piano, exploring a wide variety of visual and sound proposals.
Users can also upload their own content to the app to experiment freely and share it with the community.
A group of students from LABA VALENCIA are working to create visual and sound content based on the body in movement, skin, gesture and dance, with which those attending the installation will experiment to create compositions, accompanied and guided by them. Likewise, together with them, they will portray details of bodies in movement to build their own albums of images that will then be uploaded to the app, together with a selection of sounds.
Then, interacting with the app, they will prepare mini concerts that they can render on video and publish.
A selection of the students’ pieces, as well as those shared on social networks by the public attending the installation, will be performed live at the in the Teatre el Musical on 21 May, during the closing ceremony of the Festival 10 Sentidos.
