MEMORIES, an installation created by Arwa Fayed, Michelle León and Frederic Coquillon, was one of the Master’s Final Projects. It is an interactive audiovisual installation in which the audience is no longer simply a spectator, but becomes part of the artwork.
“Human memory is never fixed. Every time we remember something, that memory changes: we add details, forget others, and transform it until it becomes entirely our own. This installation celebrates that imperfection and the way we construct our memories.
At a time shaped by artificial intelligence and digital precision, MEMORIES focuses on what is blurred and elusive, on memories that change over time, and on the emotions that remain beyond the facts.
The installation poses a simple question: what are we, if not the result of all the people who have passed through our lives?
The audience becomes part of the artwork. Using Kinect sensors, the system captures each visitor’s silhouette and incorporates it into a large, constantly evolving projection. Throughout the day, the image grows, bringing together the traces of everyone who has passed through the space and creating a collective archive of human memory.
At the end of the experience, each visitor receives a QR code with an artistic image of their own silhouette, accompanied by the LABA Valencia logo and information about the installation. A keepsake that allows them to take a small part of the artwork with them.”

Arwa Fayed
A student of the fourth graduating class of the MICME. International Master in Multimedia Creation for Live Shows at LABA Valencia, graduated in July 2026.
She is a visual artist, motion designer and illustrator. Her practice spans image, sound and space, and she creates interactive audiovisual installations as a way of expanding storytelling beyond the screen.
She uses different visual media as a language to find the form that best suits the story she wants to tell. At the heart of her work is a curiosity about how a narrative changes when it transcends a single format, and what happens to stories when they are no longer confined to a single medium.
Michelle León
A student of the fourth graduating class of the MICME. International Master in Multimedia Creation for Live Shows at LABA Valencia, graduated in July 2026.
She is a Colombian visual artist and digital producer specializing in the creation of multimedia experiences for live performances. She brings spaces to life through immersive environments and experimental abstract art, using technology as a tool for expression.
Combining spatial design and interactivity, Michelle transforms digital media into visual narratives designed to turn stages into sensory experiences that invite audiences to participate and explore.
Frederic Coquillon
A student of the fourth graduating class of the MICME. International Master in Multimedia Creation for Live Shows at LABA Valencia, graduated in July 2026.
He is a 3D designer and co-founder of El Pasaje Secreto. His work bridges physical space and digital art through the creation of interactive installations that respond to the audience’s presence.
Combining real-time generated digital ecosystems with his experience in designing spatial journeys and narratives, he creates immersive experiences in which technology and human interaction transform the way people experience and move through a space.
