The LABA Valencia students' project in virtual exhibition “El Prado en Vol.”
The Museo Nacional del Prado has launched the website with the virtual exhibition of the ‘El Prado en Vol’ projects, where the public can now access the 3D project and immersive Real Time experience, created by the students of #LABAValencia, around the painting ‘The Annunciation’ by Fra Angelico. Among the 25 projects participating in the call, from universities and design centres all over Spain, the proposal developed by the students of LABA Valencia was one of the 5 selected to make the public presentation at the event that took place at the Prado National Museum on 18 December 2023.
The project has been directed by:
Cristina Casanova
as institutional director: international artist and director of LABA Valencia, who was also in charge of the sound design of the piece.
Ana Piquer
as 3D and art director: 3D artist and part of the LABA Valencia teaching staff, she guided the students in the 3D modelling process, as well as in the art direction of the project.
Pablo Alpe
as immersive and interactive project director: artist, engineer and professor of the International Master in Multimedia Creation for Performance at LABA Valencia, led the Real Time team and was involved in the art direction throughout the process.
Merche Lloret
as web director: digital product designer and teacher of the degree in Digital Design at LABA Valencia, was in charge of leading the creation of a web app for the presentation and dissemination of the project.

An interactive tour of the Prado Museum was designed to link the selected proposals to the original works inside the museum itself.
